Demand For Commercial Property To Rent In Central London Increases
According to research undertaken by Cushman and Wakefield, a commercial property estate agent with a number of offices around the world, Central London witnessed a great first quarter in 2015 as far as the leasing of commercial office space was concerned. In quarter one of this year, 2.4 million square feet of office space was leased out in Central London. The figures were comparable with those of the same period last year.
Within the City of London there was 1.8 million square feet of office space let out in QI 2015 with this being a 34% increase on the same period in 2014. It was also comparable with the final quarter of last year.
Interestingly, in the West End of London, there was just in excess of 600,000 square feet of office space let out in the first quarter of 2015. This was as low as it has been since back to the middle of 2013.
Rental amounts have increased with Central London seeing an increase of 7.4% for the twelve months to 31st March 2015. In the City of London rents rose by 9%.
